Unleashing Adventure at Splash Kidz Amaze in Punggol SAFRA

Our kids love water playgrounds, and I’m sure yours do too! Who wouldn’t love getting wet, zipping down slides, splashing around, and having a great time? Unfortunately, bad weather can spoil the fun.

There were times when we had to change our water play plans due to rain, even if it was just a drizzle, which disappointed the kids. Learning to be flexible isn’t a bad thing, but sometimes I wish we could have gone ahead when they were so excited. So, you can imagine their euphoria when we told them about the new INDOOR water playground in Singapore! It’s located in the northeast, just a 10-minute drive from our home.

Oh yes, you must know which place I am referring to by now. It’s Splash @ Kidz Amaze in Punggol SAFRA!

As Singapore’s first indoor water playground, Splash @ Kidz Amaze is conveniently located in Punggol SAFRA clubhouse, which sits directly opposite the main entrance of Sam Kee LRT Station (PW1). The huge playground spans 24,000 square feet and features multiple play decks, five slides and a splash pad which are designed according to the theme of the “Enchanted Deep Sea”. We’ll show you around and share with you what we love best about this place.

I love the bathrooms at Splash @ Kidz Amaze! They have lockers, a baby changing area, and two-door cubicles so you can keep an eye on your kids. I usually bathe with my kids, so I always lock both doors. It’s great that the facility is so kid-friendly. And best of all, there’s hot water available! No more shivering after cold baths or struggling to find a shower area after water play.

Now, let’s talk about the play areas. There’s a splash pad or wading area designed for toddlers and small kids, with a safe water depth of about 30cm. It’s a great place for kids to run and play, but accidents can happen anywhere, so it’s important for parents to keep a close watch. The area is enclosed with only one point of entry, making it easier to supervise multiple kids running around at once.

One of our favorites was a spinning top where one kid could sit while the other pushed and rotated it, causing jets of water to spray outwards. It’s moments like these that I’m grateful for having siblings and that the kids can enjoy themselves without needing my help.

There are also water guns that you can use to spin and ‘shoot’ one another, as well as a mini bridge that you can crawl through and attempt to slide down. We did have a friend who unfortunately fell and hurt himself while crossing the bridge, so just remember to ask the kids to be careful no matter what.

I didn’t expect Angel, at six, to enjoy the wading pool, but to my relief, she did. This meant she could help me watch her little sister. They loved the main play area most and spent most of our 3-4 hours there.

The main play area has a three-story structure with two small slides and two long, winding tunnel slides. To ensure safety, there are crew members in yellow shirts stationed at various points. I was pleased to see they were friendly and fun-loving; they even playfully splashed water on us, and my kids happily splashed back.

The baby slide, which had two small slides side by side, was a little too baby-ish for my kids, even for Ariel, so they only played on it a couple of times.

Their favorite was the green slide, more suited for toddlers, which they went down dozens of times. If you’re unlucky, you might even get dunked by the giant water bucket on top as you slide down. How fun, right?

Here’s a shorter version:

“This is what I meant about the water being shallow. The toddler can walk, sit, and even crawl safely. It’s perfect for playing crocodiles, and I can carry them on my back without sinking!”

Next, let’s talk about the thrilling tunnel slides! The big girl liked the highest, longest, and most winding one the most! Inside, there are dim lights, but I have to warn you that the tunnel slide is quite pitch-black. If your child is scared of the dark, make sure to reassure and prepare them beforehand. The good thing is that parents are allowed to slide down too, but you’ll have to take turns either before or after your child.

Angel loved the tunnel slides and went down countless times! However, at the second tallest slide, she hit her head because it was slippery. After that, we decided it would be better for her to stick to the tallest slide, which she really enjoyed.

Lastly, during the day, I loved how natural light shone in, making the place warm but not too hot. As the sun set, I was surprised to see the rooftop lights changing colors—so cool! Lying in the water, I admired the fish swimming under the relaxing ambient lights. Just then, reality set in with a jolt as a familiar voice said, “Mummy, I need to pee!”

So, we ended up staying till the playground was closing and had more fun and laughter than we expected. Thanks to Splash @ Kidz Amaze for the wonderful experience and I have a feeling we will be back pretty soon for more splashing good times!
