Vaginal Discharge

If you notice any vaginal discharge (with an odd smell) and itching, it may be a sign of an infection which could affect the growing foetus. See your doctor to prescribe an appropriate medication to deal with it.

Pain During Urination

Burning sensation or pain experienced during urination could be due to the bladder or urinary tract infection which could be due to changes in the body during pregnancy.

However, such infections can affect your pregnancy and may lead to preterm labour.

Share with your gynaecologist about your pain or burning sensation when passing urine. He or she will order a urine sample test to check if it is indeed a urinary tract infection and will prescribe antibiotics that are pregnancy-safe.
