The weekend is here so let’s get busy!
WORDS SAMANTHA TAN
1. Beachin’ Good Time
Grab the swimsuits, sunscreen lotion, beach toys and towels and you are all set for a day at the beach. Join the little ones for some water splashing games or sit back and relax while they build sandcastles around you.
2. Visit the Library
It’s never too early to start reading to your child. You can read to the little ones at the library or borrow some books home for bedtime stories. The library should also have events planned especially for children such as story-telling and other fun activities. It’s even free too!
3. Play Board Games
For rainy days where you are stuck indoors, break out the board games such as Monopoly, Pictionary, Scrabble, Snap, Taboo, Snakes and Ladders and even Ludo. Just a tip, most of the board games do have the junior version, especially for kids so you might want to consider getting those instead.
4. Go Kite-Flying
Make your own kites and head out to fly them. Even if they don't fly well, decorating them is part of the fun. You could even have a small friendly competition to see whose kite flies the highest or longest.
5. Put on a Play
Let your children have fun coming up with the storyline, decorating the sets, designing the costumes, and acting out their play. You can help them if they ask but try to leave them mostly to their own devices to allow their creativity to shine. Most importantly, be an enthusiastic audience and cheer them on.
